NU-manga is open to everyone. Readers, translators, creators and curious newcomers — welcome to a community built around great stories.
Find your next readNU-manga brings manga reading and collaborative translation into one place. Come for your next chapter, help with a line of dialogue, prepare pages or suggest a better way to use the site. Everyone is welcome.
The reader offers Zoom, Spotlight and Filmstrip views. Zoom moves through marked areas; Spotlight highlights the current area; Filmstrip presents frames and blocks as individual panels, with neighbouring areas visible at the edges.
By blocks / By frames changes the reading step: a line of dialogue or detail, or a whole scene. The available sequence depends on the markup of the selected translation. Comments can belong to a single page or the entire chapter.

Clean pages (clears) are prepared images without translated text. They provide a base for different translations. A chapter may have several image sets, so choose the right set before starting your work.
Translated pages already contain text in the image. You can still mark them up for guided reading. NU-manga also lets you add visible translations as separate text elements over an image.
Markup defines what the reader sees and in which order:
For example, outline a scene with a frame, mark two speech bubbles with blocks, add the translation with Text, then check the sequence in Preview. Open the ? Markup guide in the editor for detailed help.
Open a chapter and choose Add markup/translation. If suitable images are missing, start by uploading them. Set the language and translation details, prepare the pages, preview the result and submit your work for review.
Local autosave is a draft in your current browser. It does not automatically move to another device or submit your work for moderation. Check the save status before leaving, and wait for a success message after submitting.
New materials and proposed changes from contributors go through moderation before publication. Pending review means the work is still waiting for a decision.

Visit Community to suggest features, discuss design, report bugs and vote for other people's ideas. New proposals are reviewed before publication. Please write proposals in English, as requested in the section's guidelines.
For a bug report, choose Bugs and include the affected page, steps to reproduce, what you expected and what actually happened. A screenshot helps. Bug reports are not shown on the general idea board in the same way as ordinary proposals, so an absent public card does not mean your report was lost.
Title ratings also use comparisons between stories you have read. The site asks which of two titles you enjoyed more; at least two read titles are needed. Choose Equal or skip a pair if you cannot decide.
Our catalog and translations will grow with the people who use them. Share thoughtful feedback, respect other people's work and help newcomers find their way. Even a small correction or a clear bug report can make the site better for everyone.
